What Happens After You Order Electricity or Switch Providers?

Once you have clicked "Submit" for your electric service request, the provider will receive your information and process your order. You will be shown the status of your order, the order date and time, and the Web site address that you can login to in order to track your orders. Within one to three business days, the provider should respond to your order.

When you go to the "My Orders" section of your account, you will have access to the status of your order, the order date and time, and the Web site address where you can track your orders, you can also view the Terms of Service and Your Rights as a Customer disclosures that you may print out.

If you have been accepted for a switch request, the actual switch of providers will occur at the next regularly scheduled meter read date. Your old provider will continue to send you a bill until the service switch has been completed.
